L&S Language Academy — also known as LNS Academy — is an ISO 9001:2015-certified foreign language training institute in Kolkata, founded by Haimanty Choudhury and Biplab Podder. We teach 10 language courses — German, French, Spanish, Arabic, Italian, Japanese, Chinese (Mandarin), Dutch, Spoken English and IELTS — online and offline near Dum Dum.

LNS Academy is founded and run by Haimanty Choudhury and Biplab Podder. Haimanty leads academics and course design; Biplab manages operations and student experience. Yes — we hold the ISO 9001:2015 certification, which means our teaching and operational processes meet an internationally recognised quality management standard. This standard is audited externally, not self-declared. Most language institutes in Kolkata don't hold this certification. See the ISO 9001:2015 standard for details.

You receive an LNS Academy course completion certificate after passing our internal end-of-course exam. This is issued by LNS and backed by our ISO 9001:2015 quality standard. External certifications — like IELTS, Goethe-Zertifikat, DELF, JLPT, HSK and so on — are completely separate, independent exams you choose to take at their official centres.

No. LNS Academy prepares you with the skills to attempt those exams, but registration and scheduling for external exams (IELTS, Goethe-Zertifikat, DELF, JLPT, HSK etc.) are entirely the student's own responsibility. You book and pay for those exams directly with their official bodies — IDP, Goethe-Institut, Alliance Française, IJWCA and so on.

Ten. We teach: Spoken English, IELTS, German, French, Spanish, Arabic, Italian, Japanese, Chinese (Mandarin) and Dutch — at multiple levels from beginner to advanced. Each language has its own qualified specialist trainer. Online and offline batches are available for all courses.

It depends entirely on your goal. German is strongest for jobs and study in Germany. French helps with Canada PR (Express Entry). Arabic is key for Gulf jobs (UAE, Saudi, Qatar). German A1 typically takes 2–3 months with 3–4 classes per week and daily practice at home. Reaching B1 — the standard threshold for work and study in Germany — usually takes around 6–9 months from scratch. Intensive batches can shorten these timelines. Absolutely — all our courses start from zero. Our Beginner or A1 level assumes no prior knowledge of the language. For spoken English, all fluency levels are welcome too. We do a short placement assessment before enrolment to confirm the right starting point.

Our full IELTS course runs 4–12 weeks covering all four modules — Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking — with full-length mock tests and 1:1 feedback. Our spoken English classes in Kolkata cover grammar, pronunciation, fluency drills, group discussion, business English and interview preparation — across Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels. Personality development is integrated from the Intermediate level onward. Classes include speaking and listening practice in every session.

For longer courses (B1 and above in German, French, Japanese etc.), instalment options can often be arranged. Call or WhatsApp 62891 24658 to discuss current options. We'd rather work with your situation than lose a good student over payment timing.

The LNS Academy certificate is issued by us after our internal exam — it confirms you've completed our course and met our assessment standard. It's backed by our ISO 9001:2015 quality certification. Goethe-Zertifikat, JLPT, IELTS, DELF, HSK and similar certificates are issued by independent international bodies after their own official exams. These are two entirely separate things — LNS prepares you for the latter; we don't administer them.

The IELTS exam fee in India is ₹19,000 for both Academic and General Training tests (as of April 2026). This is paid directly to IDP India or the British Council when you register for the actual exam — it's completely separate from your IELTS coaching fee at LNS.

No — LNS Academy doesn't administer external exams. The Goethe-Zertifikat is administered at the Goethe-Institut (Max Mueller Bhavan) in Kolkata. The JLPT is administered by IJWCA at AJC Bose College and RMIC Golpark (2026 dates: July 5 and December 6). HSK is administered at Zhongwen, Sarat Bose Road. We prepare you thoroughly; you book and sit these independently.

Standard batches run 3–4 classes per week. Weekend batches have 2 sessions (Saturday and Sunday). Intensive batches can run 5–6 sessions per week for students with visa or exam deadlines. One-to-one sessions are available on request and run at times you agree with the trainer.

It depends on the language and level. In general: A1 for European languages takes 2–3 months at 3–4 classes per week. Higher levels take 3–5 months each. JLPT N5 takes 2–3 months; N3 takes 5–6 months. IELTS full coaching runs 4–12 weeks. See the relevant course page for precise level-wise timelines.

Online classes at LNS are fully live — you join a real-time session with a trainer and other batch students via a video platform. They're not pre-recorded lectures or self-paced modules. You interact, ask questions, do speaking practice and get feedback in real time. A smartphone or laptop with a stable internet connection is all you need.

In our experience, yes — especially for language learning. The live interaction, speaking practice, board-based teaching and trainer feedback are all the same online as they are in the classroom. Many of our online students progress just as fast as offline students. The curriculum, assessments and certificate are identical.

This depends on batch availability and timing. If an equivalent offline or online batch is running, we try to accommodate the switch. Speak to us on WhatsApp and we'll confirm what's possible for your specific course and level.
